Kissimmee Food Spotlight: On the Border
On the Border Mexican Food Cantina
“On the Border” opened in Kissimmee recently and offers a spacious and casual dining restaurant which specializes in Tex-Mex food that the whole family can enjoy. We visited there with a crowd and had a great time eating our way through the menu on offer and enjoying the lively atmosphere in the restaurant.
There’s a choice of fabulous entrees, with varying spice levels (and calories!) to choose from. We tried 3 of the “signature” dishes recommended by our server, including the “Ultimate Fajita“, the “Monterey Ranch Fajitas” and the “Shrimp Border Bowl“. All of them were piping hot when they arrived at our table, really tasty and were great to share. We reckon that a family of 4 could easily have appetizers and then share a couple of these entrees for their meal and still go away without feeling hungry! As an extra plus for those wanting to count calories – every meal on the menu shows the calorific content so you can work out just how much you want to eat.
Be sure to try out some of their specialty margaritas, like the “1800 Mercedes” (my favorite) or the “Borderita“. These margaritas pack a punch and are quite large – but well worth the extra money in our opinion. There’s lots of other beverages on offer including sodas and beers – but if you’re going for that true border feel – be sure to try out one of the margaritas when your on vacation here in Orlando.
On the Border is located just off Highway 192 in Kissimmee, in the Rolling Oaks shopping area by the SR429 (where our Welcome Center is located!).
