Vacation Alone :: Would You Consider This?
People often wonder if vacationing alone is a lonely or a hip thing to do. Would you consider taking a vacation alone? There are many good reasons why this can be an enjoyable option, even if you have a family with which you usually plan holiday vacations.
According to U.S. News, some of the reasons to travel by yourself include:
- Not having to coordinate schedules
- Doing what interests you
- Some destinations offer a safe environment for solo travelers
Traveling alone means that you have as much time as you want or need to view things, such as exhibits or nature parks, without the distractions of family time or others.
Some ideas for fun
For example, one trip might take you to Epcot, rather than the Magic Kingdom in Orlando at Disney World. At Epcot, you can pretend you are in Europe, walking the streets and sitting at a cafe, at your own pace.
Going it alone allows you to feel like a local. It also may encourage you to reach out to others who are sharing a similar fun experience.
Traveling Disney solo means that you can take your time and explore all those nooks and crannies that interest you.
Alone time is “me” time
You can use the time when you return back to your lodging to relax, read, or meditate. It truly can be a relaxing vacation where you get to know yourself again. You might arrange a massage or facial or other relaxation or beauty regimen. No rush— pampering is the call.
It is a time to relax, recharge, and recuperate from a hectic life of business or family. Golfers and other sports enthusiasts can find their favorite sport and participate without having to include others. It might be a time to try out something that you have always wanted to do, like kayaking, zip-lining, or visiting a bevy of animals.
Renting a vacation home will give you room to walk around, explore the rooms and sit outside, reading a book while enjoying the sunshine. There are no schedules when you travel by yourself, unless you want them. You might plan a spa day, savor special quiet dinners at a favorite restaurant, or play some golf, or all of these; it is all up to you when you travel solo. A vacation alone might be just what the doctor ordered.
