5 (More) Fun and Free Things to do in Orlando
Enjoyment doesn’t have to equal expensive. There are a wealth of fun and free things to do in Orlando if you know where to look…save money on your Orlando vacation and don’t compromise on adventure with these free options for fun and excitement!
Lake Eola Park
Take a breather from the theme parks and downtown Orlando and visit the 43-acre Lake Eola Park, located right in the heart of the city. Fun fact: the lake is actually an 80-foot sinkhole! You can enjoy a concert or play at the amphitheater, check out the view of the Orlando skyline, or on Sundays, stop by the farmers market.
Orlando Brewing Company
Orlando Brewing Company is the only certified organic brewery in Florida. They offer free tours at 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and you’ll also find great free entertainment on the weekends! In addition to seeing how beer is brewed in enormous fermenting vats, you’ll get to try some free samples when the tour is over.
Black Hammock Adventures
Located on Lake Jessup, Black Hammock Adventures has free live alligator and bird exhibits. You can watch experienced trainers feed the resident 12-foot, 650-pound alligator “Hammy” on Sunday afternoons, and catch free live music every Friday and Saturday night at the restaurant.
Lakeridge Winery & Vineyards
Fifty thousand gallons of wine come out of Lakeridge each year — it’s Florida’s largest — and locals visit and revisit all the time. The winery hosts an abundance of family-friendly festivals and free live music events all year long with food, crafts, and even fun photo ops and free tours about every 20 minutes. The whole tour takes about 45 minutes. And of course, you can grab your favorite bottle on the way out!
CityArts Factory
CityArts is downtown’s largest collective of art galleries and you can find local and international works of art. The gallery sees 50,000 visitors a year and admission is free Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. You can also check the events calendar for live music, new exhibitions and even holiday-themed events such as the popular Dia de los Muertos Exhibit, which features art, live performances and other great entertainment.
